El Salvador Wins Concacaf Beach Soccer Competition
Today I will be discussing how the El Salvador Beach Soccer Team recently won the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship. This win is their third title in this competition. The El Salvador National Team does not have a successful history in tournaments. They usually face a humiliating loss, and fans react with no surprise whatsoever. As someone with Salvadoran parents, I always root for the El Salvador National Team. However, my expectations are low and the results usually match those expectations. It brings me joy that the beach soccer team won something for El Salvador. I think it is important to acknowledge this win and that this tournament did not receive much publicity. This will be catered towards the public relations part of soccer tournaments. In this post, I will be briefly explaining this story, and why I believe beach soccer deserves more publicity.
On March 16, 2025, the El Salvador Beach Soccer Team won the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship. After a 2-1 result versus Guatemala, El Salvador claimed their third title in this competition. El Salvador also gained qualification into the 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup which will take place in Seychelles this Spring. Click here to read the full story.
Being Salvadoran, I see it as a huge accomplishment that El Salvador has won a title. The National Soccer team has never produced good results. They even hold the record of the biggest defeat in World Cup history with a humiliating 10-1 loss. Having Salvadoran family and coworkers, we all agree that our national team is not good. We all laugh and joke about it because we have gotten used to the national team not being able to produce good results. Although they may not be great on grass, it brings us great joy that the beach soccer team is fantastic.
The fans may not have hope for the national team, but hopefully the recent win in the beach soccer tournament can give positive publicity for the team and beach soccer as a sport. The recent win for the beach soccer team can give the supporters of the El Salvador sports hope and joy of seeing their country win something. The chances of El Salvador at the 2025 FIFA Beach World Cup look promising because of their recent win and track history with this competition.
This story shows that better publicity can be brought to beach soccer. Since beach soccer is not as mainstream, the sport does not get as much publicity compared to when played on grass. There was not much publicity surrounding the final event as it approached. In my opinion, only fans who truly follow beach soccer would have been made aware. This shows the lack of advertisement surrounding beach soccer.
Many fans have a love for the sport and FIFA should cater these events to them. With the 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup coming up in the summer, I am positive that many people would tune in to view their national team compete for a trophy. This impacted me because I was not aware that the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship was happening until a coworker put a game on at the store I work at. After seeing this, I was fully invested to see if El Salvador would win the competition. I was curious to see if the beach soccer team would be able to win a competition and add something to the El Salvador trophy cabinet.
FIFA should advertise these tournaments much more than they do. Although soccer is the biggest sport in the world, many more people could tune in if they advertise this tournament in a better way. Soccer is the world’s sport, which also means it can be enjoyed in any geographical location. Whether people play or watch beach soccer, it truly shows the diversity that this sport has and how many people it appeals to. I hope that FIFA realizes that soccer is such a huge sport that they decide to publicize the Beach Soccer World Cup in a proper way.
Soccer is the most popular sport in the world. People from every country and demographic find the joy in the sport. Many people hold memories with family and friends that have to do with soccer. I have made so many memories with my family watching our favorite teams play. I have memories from ten years ago that I still hold close to my heart from the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Advertising the beach soccer tournament would give people many memories of watching their nation compete for a trophy. I hope that Salvadorans who are aware of this tournament will tune in with a hopeful stance about the team. Although El Salvador may be poor on grass, they can play much better on sand. I encourage Salvadorans to tune in and see a team who represents our country actually do well in a soccer tournament.
